Biofuel Filter Solutions

What is Biofuel?

A biofuel is any liquid fuel derived from biological materials such as trees, agricultural wastes, crops, or grass. You can produce Biofuel from any carbon source that can be replenished rapidly, such as plants. For example, some biofuels extract sugar or starch from crops and then ferment it to make alcohol. Other biofuels are a result of gases from decaying organic matter.

Why do we need Biofuel?

Biofuels have many applications in a range of fields. Biofuels can replace conventional fossil fuels, such as petroleum, propane, coal, and natural gas. Furthermore, it can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy security by providing an alternative to fossil fuels. Biofuels also can reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Because of its immense uses and applications, Biofuel production is popular today. As a result, the Biofuel industry is growing all over the world. But the production process of biofuels is not easy since you need many complicated appliances, processors, and filter systems. Fortunately, we offer some of the best products in the world.

Biofuel filter solutions technology

Filtration is an essential step in the production process of biofuels. It includes many steps such as degumming, winterisation, bleaching and deodorisation. These steps help remove or reduce contaminants present in feedstocks.

Filtration can also remove sterols and other waste materials in the production of biodiesel. In addition, reducing and eliminating impurities lowers the number of reactants and increases the produced biofuel’s quality.

To get these all done, we need specially designed technologies and appliances. Those technologies used to produce biofuels are called Biofuel filter technologies. Biofuel filter technologies have a crucial role to play in the production of biofuels.

Filter technologies ensure the final product meets the required international standards. In addition, removing contaminants and other impurities during the filtration process delivers the perfect product.

  • Produce a high-quality biodiesel product free of contaminants and impurities.

Below is each filter solutions features, properties, and advantages.

Amafilter® Pressure Leaf Filter Systems

Amafilter® Pressure Leaf Filter Systems are fully automated with no rotating parts and successfully operating filter systems. It is a closed filtration system that guarantees the safety of the customers.

The most important part of the filter system is the pressure filter leaves. There are composed of five layers (ply) of stainless-steel wire mesh. Therefore, these filter leaves help achieve a high degree of accuracy, increasing system productivity and filtration efficiency.

The system is designed in a way to maximise the filtration surface area of the filter leaves. Therefore, this offers optimal bulk filtration in the smallest footprint. In addition, it provides easy access to the filter leaves for removal of the cake that ensures the machine’s safety.

Stainless steel makes them highly resistant to stress, corrosion, variances in temperature and extreme pressure changes. In addition, Amafilter® pressure filter leaves deliver high filtration efficiency, filtrate quality and flux rates.

Furthermore, the filter is capable of filtrate for more extended periods without causing disruptions. Self-sealing cover gaskets provide a perfect sealing solution and maximum safety for the filter system.

Advantages

  • Easily clean filter leaves.
  • Limited maintenance is required.
  • Greater production capacity with lower operational costs
  • Low operating costs means minimum maintenance costs.
  • Produces high filtrate clarity

Type 230ACN

Type 230ACN stands for the Float Drain Traps. It can efficiently handle liquid in the storage tanks. These traps can remove up to 2800 pounds of condensate per hour. It can work with pressure differentials from 5 up to 250 psi.

For easy removal of liquids and careful inspection, internal parts attach to the cover. Float Drain Traps are available in various models and materials of construction, such as the Model 90-AC, Model 95-AC and Model 230-ACN.

 Advantages

  • No priming required
  • Stainless steel internal parts are resistant to corrosion
  • No loss of line pressure
  • Many configurations available

Type 31-LSF

Type 31-LSF is a two-stage filter that removes 99% of all particles larger than 10 microns. It filters the residue in 2 stages. The first stage removes slugs and heavy liquid loads using a centrifugal separator.

All remaining droplets are removed in the second stage using coalescing filters. This process can remove particles as small as 0.3 microns from air, gas, and steam processes. The most common application for the LSF Series Filter/Separator is to obtain natural gas.

 Advantages

  • Fabricated construction
  • High efficiency over a wide flow range
  • Removes over 99% of liquid and solid
  • Can remove particles larger than 0.5 microns
  • Gas, steam, or air applications
  • Integral sumps

Type 40 Exhaust Heads

Type 40 Exhaust Heads separate and removes the entered water and oil from exhaust air, gas, or steam. It has to be done before discharging the biofuel directly into the atmosphere. When properly sized, installed, and drained, the filter system removes more than 99% of liquids and solids over 10 microns in size from the discharged flow.

Therefore, it reduces the maintenance costs on roofs and surrounding objects.

Advantages

  • Choice of cast or fabricated construction
  • Separate entrained water and oil
  • Removes up to 99% of all liquid and solid entrainment
  • Absence of moving parts to wear out
  •  No need for maintenance
  • Highly efficient
  • Permit free flow of steam, gas, or vapours.

Type 90AC

Type 90AC is a type of Float drain trap. They can efficiently handle the liquids in the tanks and drip points of separators without dropping the pressure in the line. These traps can remove up to 2800 pounds of condensate per hour. It can work with pressure differentials from 5 up to 250 psi.

Float Drain Traps are available in the market with a variety of models. According to the featuring of the construction materials, there are many models such as Model 90-AC, Model 95-AC and Model 230-AC.

 Advantages

  • No priming is required.
  • Corrosion-resistant stainless steel internal parts
  • Internal parts are attached to the cover.
  •  Easy removal and inspection purposes
  • No loss of line pressure
  • Many choices for configuration

Type 95AC

Type 95AC is also a type of Float drain trap. They efficiently control the liquids in the tanks and drip points of separators without dropping the pressure in the line. These traps can remove the condensed liquids at the speed of 2800 pounds per hour. It also can work with pressure differentials from 5 up to 250 psi.

Float drain traps are available in the market with a variety of models. According to the featuring of the construction materials, there are many models such as Model 90-AC, Model 95-AC and Model 230-AC.

 Advantages

  • No priming is required.
  • Stainless steel internal parts are corrosion resistant.
  • Internal parts attached to cover for easy removal and inspection.
  • No loss of line pressure
  • Choice of inlet/outlet configurations
