Gayan Chathuranga (Herath)

Gayan Chathuranga (Herath) is the Automation Engineer at Purple Engineering, the company behind FLTR. He builds and manages the business systems behind sales, inventory, order management and reporting, so filtration customers get faster responses and accurate information about their orders.

Since joining Purple in 2024, Gayan has built an automation ecosystem that processes incoming quote requests and emails and uses AI to extract and classify RFQ data. That matters in filtration, where many enquiries arrive as a part number or a specification. He also led the rollout of a new inventory management system with real-time stock synchronisation to the website, and developed an order tracking platform that gives the team a single view of every order from quote to delivery.

His engineering tools include pressure-drop and freight calculators. Pressure drop is one of the key numbers in filter and strainer selection.

Gayan has more than four years of experience in software development, business process automation and system integration, specialising in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate and Copilot Studio), CRM and inventory automation, API integrations and custom web applications. Before Purple he worked at MiHCM, progressing from intern to Associate Software Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (Hons) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
