About Sanoj
Sanoj Chathuranga is CEO of Purple Engineering, the Australian company behind FLTR. Purple supplies industrial filtration, strainers and pipe welding equipment and holds Australian distribution rights for a number of world-renowned brands. Sanoj leads the business alongside founder Alex Ocean.
His background is in process engineering. Sanoj graduated from Uva Wellassa University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Mineral Processing, then spent three years as a QA and Product Development Executive at Kahatagaha Graphite Lanka. That work showed him how process equipment behaves in real operating conditions, which is exactly the knowledge that matters when a filter has to be matched to a specific duty.
He joined Purple Engineering in 2021 in technical sales support, working directly with customers to match equipment to their applications and solve problems on site. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2024, responsible for operations, supplier partnerships and team development, and became Chief Executive Officer in 2026.
Industrial filtration is one of Sanoj's key areas of focus. He is working to strengthen the manufacturer partnerships behind the FLTR range, grow Purple's share of the strainer and filtration market, and make sure every customer receives equipment that is right for the job, not simply what is easiest to supply.
